This was deemed an emergency project the existing retaining wall was failing. The Building above was an old service station and a current auto body shop. The stream below was a creek supplying the Town of Peekskill reservoir.

The Town of Putnam Valley condemned a portion of the paint shop do to the failing wall. The Town of Peekskill Lawyer/Engineering Matt Novelli consultant insisted on the Stone Strong Retaining Wall System. He knew that the system would go in fast and was the best way to protect the environment and the building above.

The contractor installed 1800+/- sf of retaining wall in 4’-6” of water (therefore the bottom course was set below water level). With access and marina construction being part of the challenges of this site the contractor was still able to install 600 sf per day completing the installation including poured inplace mass extenders drainage stone and backfill between the building and the wall in one weeks time.

The Contractor had never worked with the product before and was very impressed with it’s ease to install and it’s versatility. Having to make field adjustments do to the lack of engineer because of the short timetable that was placed on the entire project. As noted above this was an emergency project.
