This project has a 51’ high vertical retaining wall on it. LHV reviewed the plans with Stone Strong and agreed that the project could be design with Stone Strong retaining wall system.

LHV proposed the design to all the contractors bidding on the project. Cold Spring Construction closely reviewed LHV’s quote and saw the system as a time safer. The next step was to propose to the NYSDOT Region 6 That the system was sound in both design and constructability. With plans provided by Bell Engineering NYSDOT accepted the value engineering proposal submitted by the team of Cold Spring Construction, LHV Precast and Bell Engineering. Construction of the wall started in June 2011. A total of 37,000 SF retaining wall was completely insulted by October 2011. Using the Stone Strong Retaining Wall System with specialty block to get a positive connection between the Synteen Geogrid SF 350 in the deepest parts of the wall. Then a typical gravity connection with the Synteen Geogrid SF 110 and a plain gravity wall on the other elevations of the retaining wall. See attached plans for details.
